“An umpire has emptied the stands at a high school baseball game, ejecting the entire crowd of more than 100 fans for being unruly.

Umpire
Don Briggs said he had no problem with any of the student athletes during Thursday’s game between Winfield-Mount Union and West Burlington.
He said he had to take action because fans were being unruly, yelling and arguing.”

The Associated Press

The umpire defined unruly as “yelling and arguing”. A baseball game is not a chess match, and yelling and arguing are as much a part of baseball as beer, hot dogs and peanuts. Go to any professional baseball game, and you will hear fans screaming “Kill the ump.”

The umpire missed his calling in life, a sensitive soul like him should be an usher in a symphony hall, and not an umpire in a baseball game.

The umpire called the cops, and the police officer who showed up said he didn’t observer any unruliness.

The game was resumed after an hour delay, and most of the fans returned to their seats.

The ump made a huge error by ejecting the entire crowd, they will give him a hard time for the remainder of the baseball season.
