Dude Nearly Kills Himself Cleaning His Toilet

“A St. Petersburg man got firemen to clean his bathroom Thursday morning after he mixed cleaners that unintentionally produced a deadly gas.
Michael Newton, 44, wanted a spic and span bathroom so he poured together bleach and an ammonia-based cleaner. What he got was chlorine gas, whose fumes have been used as a weapon to kill large groups of people since World War I.”
I have seen many public restrooms and a few in private homes that should be declared a hazmat hazard. I don’t use public restrooms unless I really, postively have to go.
I’ve produced a deadly gas in my bathroom on more than one occasion, but never by mixing bleach and an ammonia-based cleaner. I’ve had to air out the bathroom after I’ve done my business, but the firefighters had to air out the dude’s house and wash the bathroom walls for 30 minutes.
Newton was taken to a hospital, and he is in stable condition. He paid a high price to have the cleanest bathroom in his neighborhood.
