First ‘Burn Notice’ And First Tool Record-A Marvelous Miracle!

Two tardy miracles yesterday. Story of my life. Late to the game. First “Burn Notice” and first Tool record. “Burn Notice” couples personal crisis with the everyday business of gratuitous violence. Tool taps the inner psyche with a palette of riveting noise that allow private ghosts to escape out into the atmosphere. The CD package for “10,000 Days,” in its entirety (Adam Jones, Mackie Osborne, & Alex Grey), is impressive, like finding a lost Mayan fresco in some secluded cave on the Yucatan. Listening to Tool after a “Burn Notice” episode is like Mayan hot chocolate after blue corn tamales.tool

Still processing “10,000 Days”. Two bands come to mind. The Bad Brains, scorchin` metal punk, and Chrome from San Francisco, that gives off a post-punk industrial white noise, that was characterized by a gossamer urban art scene of black leather warehouse happenings. Tool is experimental, intuitive and noisy too, “Roseta Stoned” grinds, & builds, churns, surges & shakes your bones to action.” Burn Notice” does that also!. “Vicarious” slowly builds; `tis a burnin` cauldron of boilin` oil on a doomsday altar of ritual sacrifice . Right, Friendo!

I save Friday for the HEADLINER, Tool! TOOL will play at Lolapalooza-Grant Park, Chicago, on Saturday, August 8th, from 8:30-10:00 PM, on the Chicago 2016 stage. Don`t miss it, FRIENDO!
