“Dog-crazy Americans will soon be able to buy a pet-friendly car with a cushioned dog bed in the trunk, fitted with a built-in water bowl and fan and a ramp to help less agile dogs climb in.

It features easy-wash seat covers, a fitted dog bed with restraints to keep Sammy safe in the event of a crash, and a paw logo on the side. Honda said the car would go on sale across the United States from the fall of this year.”

This “dog-friendly” car from Honda is an abomination, and I’m sorry it’s going to be sold in the United States.

A dog is man’s best friend and he deserves to sit on the passenger seat next to the driver, not in the trunk like a freakin’ rabbit or hamster. Mandy sits next to me with her head sticking out the window, that’s the only respectable way for a dog to ride in a vehicle.

I’d  hate to think what Mandy would do if I put her in the trunk, I’d probably find an unwelcome surprise in the cushioned dog bed.

I drive a Jeep with a high clearance and my Pitt Bull/German Shepherd has no problem jumping in. My dog and I would be too embarrassed to get into a Honda.

If you own a prissy Chihuahua you might consider buying the Honda Element, but a real guy with a real dog would never (ever) buy Honda’s dog-friendly car.
