“Dozens of men in south-central Pennsylvania have teamed up for a good cause and put their best feet forward — in women’s shoes.
The Associated Press
The men in heels had a lot of fun, and generated about $5,000 for a rape crisis center. I’d rather write a check for $5,000 than hobble down a city block in stiletto heels. Trying to walk in heels would demand all of my energy and concentration, I don’t know how women can go about their busy and productive lives wearing heels.
The event was billed as the “Walk A Mile in Her Shoes March”. Marching implies an organized, steady and rhythmic walking forward, those men in heels were probably a stumbling and bumbling mess.
Frank Baird may look silly in women’s shoes, but he is tackling a serious issue in an innovative and creative way. I applaud Baird, and I hope that thousands of men will join his crusade to stop violence against women.
