Molson Cuts Off Supply Of Free Beer To Its Retirees

“Beer maker Molson is turning of the tap and cutting off the supply of free suds to its retirees, the Toronto Star reported on Tuesday.

Molson, a division of Molson Coors, said it was looking to “standardize” its complimentary beer policy.
There are 2,400 Molson retirees in Canada and their free beer costs the company about C$1 million ($900,000) a year, the Star said.”

I can understand if a condom manufacturer cuts off its free supply of rubbers to its retirees, after all senior citizens don’t have a pressing need for that particular item.

Downing a few cold ones is one of the few pleasures that old people can still enjoy – it’s outrageous that Molson will no longer be providing them with free suds.

We are living in hard economic times, and some of the retirees may not be able to afford to buy beer.

These are the highlights of an old codger’s day: Pick up the mail in the morning, drink beer in the afternoon, and his daily bowel movement in the evening. For God’s sake Molson, give the old folks their free beer!
