Results: Big Hits at the Box Office

Zac Efron shoots and scores his first box office success post-High School Musical with 17 Again taking the top spot with $24.1 million.   The comedy-fantasy, about a man (Matthew Perry) getting a second chance to correct his mistakes as a teenager, has been getting good reviews from critics.

Last weekend’s winner, Hannah Montana: The Movie, dropped three spots to number four with $12.7 million, taking in 10 days $56.1 million. 

The journalistic-political thriller State of Play debuted in second place with$14.1 million while Crank: High Voltage is in number six with $6.5 million.  Monsters vs. Aliens, meanwhile, remained in number three for twice in a row with $12.9 million, becoming the biggest movie so far in 2009 with $162.7 million.
