“ Iran has arrested more than 100 ‘Satan-worshippers’ in a raid on a concert in the southern city of Shiraz where people were drinking alcohol and ’sucking blood’, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

‘One hundred and four members of a Satan-worshipping group were arrested at a party and immoral concert in Shiraz (on Sunday),’ local Revolutionary Guards chief Abbas Hamidi was quoted as saying by Jam-e Jam newspaper.”

Any statement emanating from the Revolutionary Guards should be taken with a grain of salt. The Islamists regard America as the “Great Satan”, and rock as the devil’s music.

The Ayatollahs consider anyone who doesn’t subscribe to their hardline beliefs as a threat to the regime, and they are always quick to demonize dissenters in an attmept to marginalize them.

The young people at the rock concert may have been dancing and drinking booze, but I seriously doubt they were sucking blood and and engaging in Satanic rituals.

But given a choice between associating with fundamentalist Muslims or devil-worshipping rock and rollers, I would cast my lot with the Satan worshippers.

Those young people should fight for their right to party, as soon as they are released from jail they should organize another rock concert.
