Ryan Reynolds returns to the Marvel “Deadpool”

Wolverine may not be the only one going solo, as plans are in the works for another X-Men spinoff — only this time with Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.  We first saw the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the #1 movie right now raking over $150 million.  Like Wolverine, the wisecracking mercenary Deadpool was part of Team X and later one became the government project known as Weapon XI.

This isn’t Reynolds’ first time in the Marvel Universe.  Back in 2004, he was vampire slayer Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity with Wesley Snipes.   The Deadpool project is in pre-production right now.
