Is Lady Gaga the Most Interesting Person of 2009?

lady gagaLady Gaga has been included in the ABC News list: Barbara Walters` Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009. Others that were included were: Kate Gosselin, Adam Lambert, Sarah Palin and Bret Favre. I must confess, I`ve been ignoring Lady Gaga heretofore. I`m cautious that way with new artists. This morning I purchased her CD The Fame on itunes and am thoroughly diggin` it!lady gaga ii

Punchy, catchy little pop songs, evocative…confusing even? Lady Gaga reminds me of Deborah Harry of Blondie. I have a long road to ho, though, before I can penetrate the essence of her art *(excuse the Freudian slip up). The Fame is so Disco-esque, but somehow a horse of a different color. The interplay (foreplay?) between keyboards, guitar and a drum machine is intriguing. Prince comes to mind too. She is talking about the fast lane of the rich & famous. So MODERN for this old geezer.

Gaga is bodacious in her gear when she met Queen Elizabeth I! Great 30 pic volley I`ll link for ya. With her zany costumes now Cher (from the `70s) comes to mind! Maybe Lady Gaga soaks up the pop culture like a sponge? What do you think her secret is? Her ZEITGEIST? Is she original, or just ECLECTIC? Is Lady Gaga the most INTERESTING PERSON of 2009?

Too Racy for Daytime TV: Adam Lambert or General Hospital?

“I’m a 68 yr old Grandmother, having watched GH and all ABC soaps get raunchier and more explicit every year for an hour at a time…3 hours a day. I cannot believe the fuss over Adam Lamberts 3 minute exercise in bad taste. He has overwhelming talent… do you not play “Mad World” during almost every show for months now??” Adam Lambert By Far The BEST Talent American Idol Has Seen to Date

Do you think Adam Lambert went over the top? Will ABC be ready to forgive and forget?

American Idol: The Goth (Adam) Verses The Boy Next Door (Kris)!

kris-allen3I was bug-eyed as I watched American Idol Wednesday night, what a spectacular pageant it was! The highlight for me was seeing Carlos Santana who is a guitar virtuoso that I have always worshiped. That is the first time I have ever seen Amer-Idol, but I got a signal from Upstairs to get off my Woopie-Cushion and peck out a few sentences interpreting the dramatic upset victory of Kris Allen.

For one thing 100 million people voted for their preferred contestant, a number that is astonishing in terms of libidinous curiosity. Overall, I thought that Adam Lambert was a better singer, and could belt out those notes with bombastic ferocity (he was perfect with Kiss)! His costumes were over-the-top too, and gave him a wicked edge, but he looked like a Bad Guy in a Hop-Along-Cassidy episode. The genuflection of his frothy, freely flowing bangs contributed to his resemblance to Damien Echols, a misunderstood Goth convicted of the Child Murders at Robin Hood Hill. I do not think Damien did it, but that`s a horse of a different color.

By contrast, Kris Allen is a master of understatement. He is very clever indeed! He is all innocent and gaw-lee-gee-wiz, like Gomer Pile. This may be just an act, but that`s okay. If he is an excellent actor, then the kudos are all the greater, I should think! He`s good at Country Rock, and this has a very big audience. He reminded me of a young Glen Campbell, a marvelous crooner, a ladies man, with mass appeal to Middle America. This is why Kris won, he was the underdog, and people love for the little guy to emerge out of the scrapheap as a winner…talk to me!  P.S. Kris also reminds me of David Cassidy of The Partridge Family.

American Idol: Who Will Be the Next Loser? Tune in Tonight!

adam-lambertIt was the end of the line for Megan Joy from American Idol last week, the competition leaps into overdrive with only two female contestants left, Allison Iraheta and Lil Rounds.

The judges mostly agreed that Allison knocked No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak” out of the park; however, Lil’s performance was dull and lacked the energy needed to stay in the game.

It may be the end of the road for Scott MacIntyre tonight unless he can show us something unique or fabulous that will keep him in the competition.

Anoop Desai needs to step it up a bit this week or there will be no Bollywood in his future.

Matt Giraud and Danny Gokey are hanging in there by the skin of their teeth because Kris Allen and Adam Lambert over shine them.

Holding steady is Kris Allen. Last week’s wonderfully arranged “Ain’t No Sunshine” was his best routine of the season and he continues to show that he can make any genre fresh and that is exactly what American Idol needs.

Its official, Adam is my favorite American Idol contestant of all-time.

Who is your favorite?
