Is Lady Gaga the Most Interesting Person of 2009?
Lady Gaga has been included in the ABC News list: Barbara Walters` Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009. Others that were included were: Kate Gosselin, Adam Lambert, Sarah Palin and Bret Favre. I must confess, I`ve been ignoring Lady Gaga heretofore. I`m cautious that way with new artists. This morning I purchased her CD The Fame on itunes and am thoroughly diggin` it!
Punchy, catchy little pop songs, evocative…confusing even? Lady Gaga reminds me of Deborah Harry of Blondie. I have a long road to ho, though, before I can penetrate the essence of her art *(excuse the Freudian slip up). The Fame is so Disco-esque, but somehow a horse of a different color. The interplay (foreplay?) between keyboards, guitar and a drum machine is intriguing. Prince comes to mind too. She is talking about the fast lane of the rich & famous. So MODERN for this old geezer.
Gaga is bodacious in her gear when she met Queen Elizabeth I! Great 30 pic volley I`ll link for ya. With her zany costumes now Cher (from the `70s) comes to mind! Maybe Lady Gaga soaks up the pop culture like a sponge? What do you think her secret is? Her ZEITGEIST? Is she original, or just ECLECTIC? Is Lady Gaga the most INTERESTING PERSON of 2009?
The Grammy Nominations-Goin` `Gainst the Grain with Eric and Stevie!
*( Take your eyes off a bikini-ed Beyonce, young man!) The Grammy nominations were held last night in LA. Beyonce took the lead with ten nominations and Taylor Swift came in second with eight. Lady Gaga collected five and the R & B singer Maxwell, who has been out of the spotlight for eight years, brought in six of those chimerical accolades.
More interesting for me was a pick up of two nominations for Eric Clapton and
Stevie Winwood. Live from Madison Garden was nominated for Best Rock Album. They also pocketed one for Best Rock Performance for a Duo or Group for Can`t Find My Way Home. This song was part of the repertoire of the Supergroup, Blind Faith. The line-up also included bassist Ric Grech and drummer Ginger Baker.
Here is the link for all of the Grammy nominations (don`t snooze while reading). It gets complex, so you have to study the list. I can`t seem to muster much excitement for many of these newer artists. The Black Eyed Peas just don`t turn me on! I`ll try…Old Geezer Rock just gets my YA YAS OUT!

Queen of England Gaga Over Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga’s current persona may not be that of the Royal’s, however, when she was still Lady Stefani Germanotta, without a doubt her talent, poise and Julliard sound is most certainly worthy of high tea.
“How can we counsel our impressionable young charges not to fall under the spell of Lady Gaga now that she has the Queen’s royal seal of approval?”
