“Firefighters in East Greenwich, R.I., organized a horse trailer as a temporary home for an 18-foot Burmese python they carried from a burning building.

Acting Fire Chief Peter Henrikson described the python as the largest snake he has ever seen. He said two firefighters were needed to make the rescue, although he kept his distance because he does not like snakes.”

We all smile when a firefighter climbs a tree to rescue a cat, and we dry a couple of tears when a firefighter saves a dog from a burning house.

But two firefighters rushing into a burning building to save a python is also a heartwarming story. The Fire Chief, who doesn’t like snakes, could have ordered his crew not to risk their lives saving a snake.

All animals are god’s creatures, and I applaud the Fire Chief and his crew for rescuing the giant snake.

5-Foot Python Caught At Gas Station

“New York City authorities said police captured a 5-foot python estimated to be about 3-years-old at a gas station.”

Encountering a 5-foot python at a gas station is a terrifying experience, but it’s a walk in the park compared to opening the door to a typical filthy gas station restroom. I’d rather deal with a python working behind the cashier stand, than having to use a gas station restroom.

That giant python was probably abandoned by its owner, it’s a shame the owner simply didn’t take it to an animal shelter. If the person who abandoned the python is caught, he should be charged with cruelty to animals.

Let’s hope that the cops find a good home for the snake.

“Police in South Carolina have arrested a man who allegedly assaulted another guest at a motel with a four-ft (1.2m) python after a row over loud music.

The alleged victim, who was not badly injured, told police he had complained about music coming from the other man’s room and they had had a row.”

Some eccentric people keep pythons in their homes, but only somebody who is totally nuts would travel with his exotic pet.

But if this character loved his python so much that he just had to take it with him to his motel room, why would he clobber somebody over the head with his beloved snake?
The idiot should be charged with assault and cruelty to animals.
